Fundamental discoveries and advances in cancer biology
Identifying new targets in order to propose innovative therapies.
Four connected areas, explained without jargon.

A foundation of our size funding a little of everything would change nothing anywhere. The Institute therefore chose four connected themes, based on the strengths already present at the CHUM Research Centre.
They feed one another: what fundamental research uncovers becomes a target, the target becomes a treatment, and the treatment is verified in patients.

Identifying new targets in order to propose innovative therapies.

Assigning better treatments to patients according to the specifics of their cancer.

Waking the immune system so that it recognises and eliminates tumours.

Offering therapies and interventions at the cutting edge of technology.
All four areas depend on the same resource: banks of tissue and clinical data built up over decades, thanks to patients who agreed to contribute to them.

La voix du cancer is the Institute's podcast, in eight episodes. Public figures closely touched by the disease meet researchers to explore recent advances and the most promising treatment paths. Hosted by science communicator Jean-Daniel Doucet, presented by La Roche-Posay. Available in French.
